As Butler prepares to make its second consecutive Final Four under head coach Brad Stevens, many wonder how much more Stevens can do before a major-conference program swoops in with loads of cash and tries to lure him away from the Bulldogs.

Butler athletics director Barry Collier said Tuesday in a radio interview that if he could, he would lock up Stevens with a lifetime contract to prevent that from happening. Laughing That's a short one.

Collier acknowledged that he won't be surprised if other athletics directors try to get Stevens to leave Butler, and that if it happens, Collier will be in hot water with the Butler Nation.

We will do everything we can. Despite the monetary limitations that Butler faces compared to power-conference schools, Collier says the Bulldogs will continue to invest in the program, one that now has Butler recognizalbe on a national stage. I like that setup, I know Brad does, and we're going to march on together. When asked about the subject of changing jobs, Stevens has consistently said he is committed to Butler and loves living in Indianapolis.
